2 Things To Make The Most Out Of Nft Nyc
If you are in Nyc during all these events we want to give you a guideline on how to make the most of your experience. Think of Nft nyc as an orange and you as a jacked 200lb chad squeezing all the juice out of the orange.
Let's start off with #1 being social. Web 3 is known for people sitting at their desk all day coding, looking at charts and shitposting on twitter. They barely see the light of day and they stay in their houses for 36hrs+ at a time.
To +1 Or not to +1
Most of these events allow you to bring a +1 even if they are token gated. If your someone who doesn't like to get out of your shell, a +1 could help you feel more comfortable in these settings. And we've seen the pics of these events, there are a lot of dudes so bringing a girl wouldn't be a bad idea.
Meeting that 1 person could change your life. The networking opportunities at these events are what make them so special. Founders, brands, high net worth investors, etc these guys will be all over the city so if you have a startup, looking for mentorship, job opportunities, etc this is the place to find them. You never really know what could happen, the opportunity of a lifetime could be in the room and you have to try and capture it. Whatever you do don't be "That Guy" 👇
The Airdrop challenges you to strike up a conversation with 1 person within the first 5 minutes you get there. Don't think about it, count to 3 and walk up to anybody and strike up a conversation. This is the tactic we use to talk to the ladies ; )
If you do the challenge @ us in a tweet and let us know how it went.
Don't over extend yourself
Brining us to #2 is fomo. There are dozens of events a day there aren't enough hours in the day to get to them all. Don't be bummed out that you missed an event or 2.
The best way to help with this is to lay out the day, event at 10, work from 11:30-1:30, Event at 2, lunch…. You get the point.
Huh I thought this section would be a little longer with info but its pretty self explanatory. DONT GET FOMO.
Ukraine Auctions off CryptoPunk NFT To Fund War Efforts
While we’re meeting up and having fun at NFT NYC, let’s not forget that people on the frontlines in Eastern Europe are putting their lives on the line to defend their country. No, this isn’t the place to take sides or point fingers, saying one is right and the other is wrong.
Doing that will only breed more aggression. Ultimately, war has no right or wrong sides, just casualties and victims. So right now, the best we can do is extend our support to the war victims.
That said, it’s encouraging to see that NFTs can do more than be expensive PFPs or a store of value for degens. For example, an NFT has again provided much-needed support for Ukraine nationalists in their efforts to defend their nation.
Ukraine recently sold a CryptoPunks NFT for 90 ETH, which accrues to a little over $100,000. The sale was announced by the country’s minister for digital transformation, Alex Bornyakov, in a Twitter post on Monday.
An anonymous collector donated the asset to the AidForUkraine fund, which was created to provide external support and financial aid for the country in the war. The donated NFT was part of the many forms of support extended by the global crypto community to the country.
Sadly, the NFT could have gone for a higher price under favorable market conditions. The NFT in question, CryptoPunks #5364, was evaluated to be worth close to $250,000 at the time it was donated to the country’s wallet. However, the recent drop in ETH price has significantly lowered the worth of the asset (gee, many thanks, bear market).
Fortunately, the recent spike in CryptoPunks NFTs also helped push up the ETH value of the NFT before its sale. As a result, Ukraine was able to get a reasonable deal for the asset, given the current state of the market.
In total, Ukraine has raised over $135 million in funds from selling donated crypto assets since putting out its wallet address in February. This includes the $6.75 million gotten from the sale of the Ukrainian Flag NFT

Moonpay Moves Past Crypto Slump, Sets Its Sights On NFTs With New Platform
Would you be interested in an NFT trading platform co-owned by Universal Pictures, Fox Corporations, Death Row Records and Moonpay? That’s a lot of big names, must be one hyped-up minting platform.
Well, it’s certainly worth the hype – Moonpay is partnering with all the companies mentioned above to launch an NFT minting platform called HypeMint. (Name sounds about right considering the hype around those big entertainment brands).
Moonpay earlier gave the launch announcement via a blog post in which they explained that they’re creating a “simple self-service platform that enables anyone to create and deploy smart contracts.” That doesn’t sound so different from the narratives of all other minting platforms, but we’ll work with it.
Moonpay’s CEO, Ivan Soto-Wright, formally announced the new platform during a keynote address at Radio City Music Hall on Tuesday at the ongoing NFT NYC event. But the company is yet to release detailed information about all the functionalities and features of the system.
Nonetheless, we found some quite intriguing points.
HypeMint operates an end-to-end web3 infrastructure which will significantly reduce project deployment time from months to days. Essentially, the platform is designed to enable large brands to mint a boatload of NFTs daily. Of course, the main aim is to scale up operations that would take months on regular blockchain tech.
The platform will allow Creators quickly transition their ideas into marketable projects and eliminate reliance on third-party developers.
Will help creators and brands avoid obstacles such as “project killing complexities”, prohibitive costs and untrusted systems.”
The CEO also explained that HypeMint would play the same role in the Web3 space that Amazon Web Service (AWS) does for Web2. I.e. to help organizations rethink their structures to better suit Web3 requirements.
But don’t get your knickers in a bunch yet; Moonpay is yet to disclose when HypeMint will be available for public use. Nonetheless, we’re looking forward to these two features when the platform kicks off.
NFT Checkout – Let’s users purchase NFTs using credit and debit cards
Moonpay Concierge – Referral systems that purchases blue-chip NFTs on behalf of high-net-worth users for a fee.
Moonpay, like many other cryptocurrency companies, has not had it all smooth in the past few months. However, they were able to push the project thanks to contributions from their collaborators and users.
That said, you can anticipate projects from Fox Corporation, Creative Artist Agency, Universal Pictures, Beatclub, FaZe Clan and Selfridges coming off Hypemint very soon. So which one are you excited to hop on?
