Everything You Need To Know About Alien Frens NFTs ā€“ Summarized

Hi Fren, folks in the NFT space reported sightings of mysterious UFOs in mid-December last year. Then a bunch of Alien Frens crash-landed on earth via the Ethereum Blockchain on December 20th.

The extraterrestrials came from Planet Fren ā€“ 10,000 of them looking to dominate the NFT world and keep it under three pairs of watchful eyesā€¦. Just kidding. The aliens are here to build the largest group of Frens in the metaverse, according to Alienfrens.io. (Did someone say friends? Yay!!)

What are Alien Fren NFTs?

Alien Frens is a collection of 10,000 generative art NFTs featuring cartoon-style outer-worldly digital avatars. These NFTs present a fascinating mix of alien and human traits ā€“ three pairs of eyes, top pointy ears, and no nose. (Not creepy at all). But some of them have clothes and hats (pretty human things).

In addition to the ecosystem a couple months ago they released Alien fren evolution and incubators. Each Alien Fren was airdropped an incubator. These incubators can be burned to reveal a alien fren evolution. The alien fren evolution is a v2 collection that contains 16.8k new frens. Moreover, the new UFO collection featuring alien spaceships just minted yesterday

Creators and Performance

The Project was created by artist Mason Crowe with the help of developer Autopixel, marketing lead Justin Brown, community manager Monti, and superstar Sean Herron.

The team launched the collection with an initial floor price of 0.02 ETH, which eventually skyrocketed to an all-time high of 4.25ETH. It currently has a market cap of 6,656.42 ETH ($38M) and a total trade volume of 27,666.20 ETH.

The collection recorded its most expensive sale in April when Alien Frens #668 was sold for 51ETH (166k at the time of purchase) on Opensea.

Community and Utility

As far as making ā€œFrensā€ go, the aliens have been quite successful. Theyā€™ve built a vibrant and active community of 137K loyal Twitter followers and 41,320 discord members. One notable community member is Veefriends creator Gary Vaynerchuk who owns a total of 36 Frens.

Moreover, the creators have been particular about the projectā€™s roadmap. They maintained that Alien Frens is a community-first project and have backed up the idea by providing holders with several physical and virtual perks.

The roadmap idea is better reflected in the collectionā€™s utility for the community. For example, The ecosystem runs on the $Fren coin, the alien fren naitive token which are earned when you stake an Og Fren and Alien Fren Evolution (must have both). Holders use to purchase exclusive items from the holders-only store. Of course, thereā€™s a general store for non-holders too.

The Frens NFTs also serve as tickets to all the projectā€™s Invasion events, merch, comic books and other exclusive giveaways. The Invasions are quarterly events where Alien Frens will invade planets and win prizes

Frenyc is taking place from 6/21-6/23, they have 3 events planned. But the main event is on june 22nd Its an event for all fren holders to come hangout. They have no affiliation with Nft nyc but are hosting there event during that time. Should be fun.

The best part is holders will get a key which will enable them to transfer their event tickets to others. So you can have your other Frens participate in events on your behalf.

But even more interesting is the full-length Fren album consisting of alien-frens-themed songs. So far, theyā€™ve released six space jams which you can view on the Alien Frens YouTube Channel.

Future For Frens

Despite recent bearish market trends, the Alien Frens community remains as strong as ever. Furthermore, it is a community-dedicated project, so zero risks of a rug pull here. Don't believe me? Have a look in their discord to find out

Youtuber Buys A House With An Nft

Just the other day, the owner of the popular Night Shift Youtube channel bought a brand new house worth $4.1 million in California.

Well, itā€™s no news that prices are dipping, and the market is bleeding. So, who would agree to exchange a house for an NFT in this crazy period? Short answer ā€“ Nobody!

It turns out Mike Majlak, the YouTuber whoā€™s also a great friend of Logan Paul, didnā€™t actually pay for the house with an NFT. Instead, he secured a loan from Arcade.xyz to help with his $1.2M down payment.

So your probably wondering what Arcade.xyz is? To keep it simple the company doesnā€™t provide loans; instead, they operate a peer-to-peer lending network that connects borrowers and lenders.

Heres how it works

To acquire a loan on Arcade, the borrower creates a loan request consisting of the NFT they intend to use as collateral and selects the loan terms. The loan request is then

listed on the Arcade platform for lenders to see. Any lender interested in funding the loan will then approve the request and fund the loan.

So, if you apply for a loan, youā€™ll have to lock your NFT into Arcadeā€™s protocol. Then when someone accepts your loan request, theyā€™ll pay you the money in USDC, which you can use for whatever you want. Of course, the company will hold on to the NFT until you pay back.

So, he actually purchased the house with usd, which he obtained through a loan he got on Arcade.xyz using his NFT as collateral. Did you really think a realtor collected an NFT for a house worth $4.1 million and called it a day? Sorry if we got your hopes up.

In Mikeā€™s case, he used the BAYC #9049 he bought in April for $700k as collateral. The NFT got him a loan of $200k, which he used to complete the $1.2 million required as the downpayment to secure the house. (No, he didnā€™t get $4.1 million with an ape worth $700k, Not on the bearā€™s watch)

So, Mike got his house, and the market is still down. But at least we can get liquidity out of our NFTs without selling them.

šŸ¤£ How About A Laugh?

Noah Davis Joins Crypropunks As Brand Lead

There have been many interesting deals in the NFT space lately, but the most peculiar one weā€™ve seen this month is a seasoned NFT veteran jumping ships. (Is this a tale of betrayal? Maybe)

Noah Davis a.k.a @nonfungiblenoah, the AVP specialist at Christie's International PLC, is the veteran switching allegiances. He announced on Sunday that heā€™s leaving his current position to be the brand lead of Yuga Labā€™s CryptoPunks. (Someone said thatā€™s a Punkass move?)

Noah has been a vital part of the team at Christie's for years. He headed the Digital sales department at the Contemporary Arts Auction firm and was instrumental in Beepleā€™s $69 million NFT sale back in March 2021 ā€“ the biggest NFT sale at the time and Christieā€™s first-ever non-physical art sale.

Noah announced the development in a Twitter thread, explaining that heā€™ll take up a new role at Yuga labs in July as the brand lead for CryptoPunks.

Yuga labs are the creators of the popular BAYC collection, and they recently acquired the CryptoPunks project from Larva labs in March. The deal made them the owners of two of the biggest NFT projects. (Yuga Labs got the bag!)

Noahā€™s move to CryptoPunks means a variety of new developments in the projectā€™s utility for owners. He stated in his announcement that he ā€œwill not f#ck with the punks.ā€ That means thereā€™ll be no Punks on Lunchboxes, cringe TV shows, or other arbitrary rushed utilities. Instead, heā€™s all about ā€œloving the Punks because they are what they are (Just Punks).ā€

He further clarified that heā€™s willing to have one-on-one talks with Punk holders whoā€™re interested in the Legacy/future of the brand. He disclosed that heā€™d be at the Punks brunch during NFT NYC and would be available to have those conversations then.

However, there are speculations that Noah signing up to head the CryptoPunks project may be responsible for the recent spike in the projectā€™s trade volume. The collectionā€™s floor price has increased to 66.65ETH at the time of writing. Some speculations even went as far as claiming there was insider information involved with some of the trade that occurred before the announcement.

Nonetheless, itā€™s evident that collectors seeing the possibility of Noah recreating the same results he had with Beeple in the CryptoPunks will be interested in the collection.

Regardless, Noahā€™s new position doesnā€™t mean heā€™ll relinquish his responsibilities at the MAPS benefit auction or his passion project, HOWLERZNFT, which he mentioned still has a final chapter to be written.

Overall, Yugalabs snagged themselves a good one to head their newly acquired mainstream NFT project. Talk about winning on several fronts.
